DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE A STAKE IN AMERICAN PUBLIC EDUCATION?
As recent high school graduates and future teachers, policy makers, community members, and parents, members of Students for Education Reform (SFER) believeS that everybody has a stake in American public education. Our organization exists to raise awareness about inequity in the public school system, beginning with our own community. As college students, we have the ability to mobilize future leaders in education reform to create an education system that puts students first. Occupying a unique place between high school and the workforce, we also have access to resources at Wake Forest and other universities in North Carolina. This semester, SFER Wake Forest would like to shift focus closer to home by hearing the needs and concerns of our community in order to best serve students and families in Winston-Salem.
